I am struggling to make the pagination work

I have a news page using the post element and the pagination seems to not be working.

Thanks for reaching out!

Are you using Archive Layout Builder to build your news page? If yes, please make sure that you don’t use Looper Provider on that layout because the pagination will not work. I also just want to add something, using the Archive Layout Builder and assign it to your news will automatically fetch the data.
