I am redirected back to our WordPress login page any time I edit with Cornerstone

Hello my dear friends.

Any time I edit with Cornerstone or try to access cornerstone or theme options I am redirected back to our WordPress login page.
Fresh new installation WordPress no plugin except X and Cornerstone.
I talked to the hosting company end they “confirm” problem with the cornerstone plugin.
latest wordpress. Tested PhP 7.2 and 7.4.
PHP error check:
PHP Warning: file_exists(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/definition.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/virtual/icelandphototravel.is/:/usr/share/php/) in /var/www/virtual/icelandphototravel.is/ljosmyndaprentun.is/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/classes/classic/elements/class-element-orchestrator.php on line 219

Instaled again frees wordpress (php7.4) and X/cornerstone and did skips the ssl and then all work fine so I guess this have something to do with legend script

Hello @Benni,

Thanks for providing the information. I have investigated further. I even disabled all your plugins and the issue still exists. There seems to be a redirection script somewhere in your .htaccess, wp-config.php or could it be in the root directory. Please provide us your FTP login details so that we can check your installation files so that we can check it as well.

Regards.

Hello and thank you.
I have add the FTP login details

Hello @Benni,

I have logged in and checked the necessary files. Every thing seems intact. You have mentioned about the legend script. Where did you have added it? I cannot find it in the directory. Is it only in your server settings? You may not need to have that script. If you already installed your SSL certificate, you can simply go to Settings > General and change the Site URL and WordPress Address URL fro using http into using the https instead.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hi,

I am having a similar problem being redirected and can’t update my site. Is there anyone that can help with my similar situation?

Hey @njumara,

Please first perform the basic troubleshooting actions mentioned in our Common Issues article. We need you to confirm that you have tried everything mentioned in our article so we know that the issue is not caused by common factors.

Also, perform the htaccess reset mentioned in this other similar thread here: Unable to change any page using cornerstone

We also like to kindly ask that you open your own thread. Please do this every time you have an issue because we might need to ask login credentials and if you post in other user’s thread, they will see the private information.

Only if nothing helps, provide the following info IN YOUR OWN THREAD IN A SECURE NOTE. Sorry for the all caps but I just need to ensure you got this.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password
  • FTP access

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks.
