I am not able to change the body copy color globally

I have tried everything I know, read all the related posts, but while I can change body copy color in the Typography section under Body and Content, the changed color always defaults to black on the page I am working on. I am able to change the size, font, but to color. What am I doing wrong? This is a new site I am trying to build, so everything is all new, but this is my fourth site with X and I never had this problem before. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for writing in!

Please be advised that the Cornerstone > Theme Options > Typography settings will be applied globally. The Global Color settings will only be applied to pages or posts created with the WP Editor.

When you create a page in the Content Builder and insert a Text (or Headline) element, the text color is black because the Text (or Headline) element has its own default value and does not depend on the global default styling.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for this, but I hope I understand correctly: I only use Cornerstone and text element to insert the text. Using the theme options>typography I can change font and size of body copy but the color change is not applied, no matter what color I make it it’s black.

On the other hand, I am able to make global body copy color changes on another site I built 2 years ago in the same way (theme options>typography), did something change since then?

Hey Cindy,

In the past, you might have used Classic elements only like the Classic Text element. The Global settings will work for the Classic elements. The non-classic or the V2 elements are advanced elements that allow users more control over the element.
