HubSpot Plugin Issue: Scrolling does not work; HubSpot says it's not their fault

Hi,

on our website, we use the HubSpot plugin to get investors to sign up for information and to get in touch. We use the “Content Area Off Canvas” element to then post the HubSpot shortcode in (our website is a OnePage Navigation). As this is a form to fill in, it’s obviously a bit longer than the screen so needs scrolling. After extensive testing, I figured out that the scrolling works in non-Chromium browsers. But Edge and Chrome can’t handle it and the form just freezes and when trying to scroll, the page in the background scrolls, but not the form. When using Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer and Safari, there is no issue.

We’ve been in touch with HubSpot to get this sorted, but they are insisting that this is not their fault and we should get in touch with the theme providers. So I was hoping you could help me sort this out.

Kind regards,

Philippe

Hi Philippe,

Thank you for writing in, as I see it on Firefox and Chrome the scroll is not working if the pointer is inside the form, but it’s working if it is in the padding area (outside of the form) see the screencast below.

I check things but I could not figure out what is causing that. Your form is embedded through an iframe so it’s an external element, which means the theme has nothing to do with it.

Since the form does not play well with the off-canvas (or vice versa) I would suggest that you place your form on its own separate page instead.

Cheers!
