HTTP 500 on Menu

When I load my menu page, I get an HTTP 500. I recently updated my theme and plugins.

First, we disabled all plugins. Still couldn’t access.
Then we upped the PHP memory. Tried changing the HTACCESS file.
Next, we tried changing the theme to a default wordrpress theme and THAT worked so it has to be theme update right?

I updated to PHP 7.2 and now it works. Not sure why. Ah well.
