HTML Shortcode Functionality in Topbar

Hey all, I’m looking to add HTML shortcode functionality that adds the current date to my call to action link. Given that this is simple HTML text that sits in the topbar, I figured placing [current date] would work as I have posts set to recognize that. It doesn’t seem to be reaching the same point as my basic text posts and misfires as basic code when the page renders. Needless to say I’m trying to keep it from saying [current date] in the visual portion of the page itself.

Any tips here?

Hi there, apologies but I’m having a hard time visualizing what you’re trying to achieve here. If you don’t mind, can you answer the following questions:

  1. What’s the URL of the site under consideration?
  2. Where do you want or have attempted to put the shortcode?
  3. Is [current date] the shortcode/a representation of the actual shortcode?
  4. What element did you try to put this shortcode to if any?
  5. Can you explain what you mean by the following:

Needless to say I’m trying to keep it from saying [current date] in the visual portion of the page itself.

Most importantly, what are you referring to by visual portion?

Your answers will help us answer your question better. Thank you.

Cheers.
