HREF, what to fill in?

Hi. Trying to make a link from an image to a pdf. I am using the classic image element and then try to fill out the right thing behind HREF. But it doesn’t work. What do I have to fill in there?

Hi there,

The href field should contain the link of the PDF file that you want the image to link to.

So first, upload the PDF file in your media directory or somewhere else you want it hosted then supply the link/url to the pdf file in the href field.

Hope this helps.

Hi. Sorry, I wasn’t clear. I understand that the link should be there. But what if I have the PDF in my media directory.?How exactly should I write down the link then behind HREF? I would like it to open in an new window as a PDF and not as a weppage

Hi There,

First please upload your pdf file on Media > Library then copy the URL of that pdf file.

Then paste that URL to the Image HREF field.

Then turn On the Open Link in New Window option, so your pdf will be opened in a new tab. Major modern browser capable of opening a pdf file.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

That works perfectly. Thank you so much!

Glad we could help, Cheers!
