I have NextGen Gallery Plus plugin installed on my site - it was there before I installed Pro the other day.
I had previously removed all content from NGG galeries ()and the server files too).
I re-populated an existing (empty) NGG gallery with files uploaded from my local machine.
I can insert this gallery into a page using the native WordPress editor, it works fine. But the gallery does not appear in the Pro Builder interface, and there does not seem to be a way to add an NGG gallery through the Pro builder interface.
If I do something like remove and delete the NGG plugin and reinstall it, will it work then? Do you know of a way to let this gallery play nicely with Pro?
There’s a post from 2017 regarding NGG gallery. The OP seems to have found a solution: “Had to change the URL form name to ID numbers and it’s working again now.” I don’t know what this means, can you explain it, and whether you think it’ll work with current versions of everything?
Thanks
Hey Frank,
Regretfully, we don’t have NextGen Gallery integration that’s why there’s no element for it. But, if a plugin has a shortcode to display something, they can be added to any Pro builder. You can insert shortcodes in a Content Area element or any element with a text editor.
Please just note that not all shortcodes will work in the builder because some scripts might conflict with the builder scripts. We can’t fix the plugin if it won’t display in the builder. This is why even the plugins we bundle like the Envira Gallery don’t have a preview in Pro. But, most should work fine in the frontend. If the plugin doesn’t display in the frontend, you need to contact the plugin author.
Thanks.
Thanks so much. The NextGen Gallery people told me the same thing, and how to get the shortcode, so I should be able to work with this. Great! Thanks!
You’re always welcome Frank!
Cheers.
