How to upload a featured image?

Hi all,

I’ve got a little question about “featured images”. Where can I upload /specify them for a page / entry? I know the default ability of WordPress for that. But When I create the Page in Corner Stone I don’t want to use that because I don’t want to destroy my CS layout. (I know, I can edit the page in the default wordpress editor but I don’t think that this would be a great idea)

Thanks for reaching out.
Regretfully, there is no such option in the Cornerstone for adding the Featured Image to the Page/Post. Please note that adding Featured Image through the default or block editor will not affect the Cornerstone layouts.

Hi tristup,

so it’s safely to add the picture at any time at the wordpress standard page settings? I wasn’t sure so I prefer to ask before I’ll do that on many pages.

(I recently tested that in my test-environment and it seems that this broke my layout I had a two column layout and now I didn’t have it. I see it correctly on the cs-editor but on the published page itself I wont. )

This is a big time waste, I mean wau supprised, comming from VC, sorry.

Is there a complete tutorial for this, I have no idea, how to add one via Cornerstone?

Just can’t find the section where it says about featured image. The search function Ctrl+F does not find anything about it. Any ideas?

Hello @markobarko,

You will have to go to Posts > All Posts and select the post that you want to assign a featured image. In the Post editing screen, you will see something like this:

Yes this helps and I did it like that.
I was asking where in the https://theme.co/docs/ is a section on how to insert a featured image via Cornerstone, because I can’t find that in your documentation.

I have mentioned in the above post, that there is no such option in the Cornerstone for adding the Featured Image to the Page/Post. In the VC the editor works inside the WordPress dashboard and page options and attribute can be access. The only way you can add the featured image is what my colleague explain, I would request you to follow that.
