How to Update Existing "X Theme"

Hi,

My site was using X theme from last many years and developed by a team of developer but now after many years I am facing issue by Malware and now I cleaned and updated my side. But the “X” theme is outdated and whenever I active it, a lot of errors appear with site down in result.

I’ve just re-purchased X theme how can I update it without loosing my current data so that when I update and validate my license key then I can have my existing site as it was before.

Please guide me.

Hi Zain,

Thanks for reaching out.
I would suggest you update the X and Cornerstone by following the steps.

1. Delete the existing Cornerstone.
2. Delete the older version of X, and activate any default theme
3. Upload the X theme to the latest version after downloading from your Themeco Account.
4. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be on the latest version

Please remember that, as you are using a much older version, you may need to create a few pages from scratch.

NOTE: Also suggested to take a backup before doing the above steps, so you can revert back from any point.
