I want to change the featured image area of the posts. How can I put a custom shortcode in that area (so the shortcode will replace with featured image) or a slider?

The featured image area were uniquely designed and hard coded into the single post templates. You cannot replace it with a shortcode or a slider without modifying the theme. Doing so will require custom development and would likely to the display the same slider or shortcode in all of your posts. Regretfully, this particular customization request is outside the scope of our support as this is not related to an issue with the theme and instead has to do with your customization of it. As such, you will need to investigate this particular issue on your own or seek help from a developer should you not feel comfortable making these changes yourself.
Please note that custom coding is outside the scope of our support. Issues that might arise from the use of custom code and further enhancements should be directed to a third party developer.
