How to make text superscript in the visual editor?

Hello!
I’ve been looking in the forums for an answer to this and didn’t find the solution to what I need. I need to make an individual number superscript. It appears between two other characters, it’s like a formula. I’ve tried adding code to the page’s css, I’ve tried adding code to the theme function, but it’s not working in the visual editor, which is where I need to do my editing for this page. How can I do this please?

Thanks!

Hey Julianne,

Thanks for writing in!

Superscripts and Subscripts were not part of the default WP buttons. We have added the buttons in the Rich Text editor within Cornerstone selectively on purpose to prevent any issues and conflicts. You can only apply the solution given in this link(https://wptavern.com/how-to-add-subscript-and-superscript-characters-in-wordpress) and see the superscripts and subscripts button in the classic WP editor. It will no longer work with Gutenberg editor

Hope this helps.

Thank you RueNel. That is one of the solutions I tried and it did work in the WP editor as you said. Are you saying that this is not possible to do using the Cornerstone editor?

Hello Juliane,

Yes, you are correct. The solution provided will not work in Cornerstone. This is something we can add to our list of feature requests instead. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development.

Thanks!
