How to make section transparent and show background

Hey I can’t believe that I couldn’t quite understand what I needed to do, but I’d like to make a single SECTION, or all the sections on a particular page transparent or change it’s opacity. It says transparent, but shows up white. So, confused.

Also, what’s weird is, it says I joined 4 days ago when in fact I’ve been in the community for a few years now I think
