How to make image slider full width

How do I get rid of the white space on the left and right of my homepage image slider and make it truly full width? I am using the “blank-no container” page template (when I use “full width” it puts white space around everything). I’ve tried messing with the padding and margins using CSS but that doesn’t make a difference. The current slider is created with LayerSlider WP plugin, but I have also tried this with the built in layer slider element and it looks the same.
