How to insert icons before menu in X theme

Hi there,

I am using X and want to add Icons before menu. I have gone through few answers covering the same but not working for me. May be I am doing something wrong. Would be great if you can share an easy copy paste code method to insert any icon before menu.

Then copy the HTML icon:

After that paste it to the navigation label:
