How to have the Essential Grid Hover Image remain when not hovering?

I’ve created an essential grid with a custom skin. I have it currently set up so that on hover an alternative image for the post is shown, which is working perfectly.

My question is if it’s possible to have the alternative image remain showing after a site visitor stops hovering.

So it would work like this:

1. Featured image displays when a visitor navigates to the page (currently working)
2. Upon hovering the alternative image displays (currently working)
3. When the user stops hovering over the grid item the alternative image continues to display (currently it reverts back to the featured image).

I’m relatively familiar with the various settings in the skin editor and am not aware of any delivered functionality that allows this but wanted to officially ask.

That is technically possible. However, that would fall beyond the scope of our support since it would require custom development.
