How to have header sticky only on upscroll

Hi, I found an old topic about this:

I’d like for the header / navbar to disappear a few moments after you start scrolling down, which is pretty much what is does right now, then when the user would scroll back up, instead of having the menu not appear until the top, having it appear as soon as upward scrolling is initiated. How could I accomplish this?

Which received the response of this:

Regretfully, this is not possible in X out of the box so it will require custom development which is outside the scope of our support. This is possible with Pro so you might want to upgrade to it instead.

I have Pro and am not seeing this option anywhere?
Thanks,
Dave

Hey Dave,

Thanks for reaching out!

The header sticky on scroll up is not yet available with the latest version of Pro but it was already implemented in the beta version. This is a quick example from the beta.

This feature will be available in 6.3.0 but we don’t have any ETA for the new release. I highly suggest that you keep posted from our updates. You can also check this link from time to time.

Hope that helps.

Hmm, that’s very odd since the topic I referenced above (that said this option was available with Pro) was from several years ago. So it was an option at one point and then it got removed and now it’s not an option currently?

This is a fairly common feature for sticky headers (I would even venture to say it’s more commonly seen than not seen on all websites with sticky headers), you guys don’t have any cheat codes and/or global css that would do the trick?

Thanks,
Dave

Hello Dave,

The responder were referring to the Sticky Header which is not available in X theme. With the Pro theme, the sticky header is possible which it can disappear a few moments after the site viewer start scrolling down. It has a feature that you can add a trigger point when to display the sticky header. What it lacks is to display/hide it as the site viewer scrolls upwards. Adding a custom CSS/JS to the modify the behavior of the navbar would make it possible at that time. With the change of our support policy, the adding of custom CSS/JS is beyond the scope of our support already.

May we recommend that you wait a little for the upcoming release since the feature that you were looking for is already in the beta version.

Thank you for your understanding.
