How to force 'above masthead' video to full browser width?

I have followed and exhausted all the instructions I can find to do this.
I have a vimeo video set in the page’s ‘above masthead’ and the slider is displaying, but it’s not covering the full-width of the browser window. No matter how I resize the window, there is always a strip of background visible on the left and right. How do I force it to cover the browser width? I don’t care if it sacrifices some of the height of the video, I just want it to cover the full browser width.

Hi Dan,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Instead of Vimeo, I’d recommend you to try using a self hosted video. The problem should go away when using a self hosted video as an optional background video.

Let us know how this goes!

Ah, I missed this information and assumed it worked for Vimeo. Is this absolutely the only solution? Is there any way to make this work with video on streaming hosts?

Hello Dan,

In case if you are using the Revolution Slider I would suggest you add the video in the background. You must check the video quality. it is maintaining an aspect ratio of 16.9. If your video’s dimensions are any of the following, then you should be good to go on most platforms on the web.

640 x 360 (360p SD)
960 x 540 (540p SD)
1280 x 720 (720p HD)
1920 x 1080 (1080p HD)
3840 x 2160 (4K)

Hope it helps
Thanks
