How To Fix Slow Mobile Page Speed

Hi,

I have run my website on Google’s Page Speed Insight.

The desktop seems to pass at a respectable speed (90-95)

But the mobile speeds are frustratingly slow (around 10-30)

I’ve also attached a diagnostics report, and it’s recommended to eliminate render-blocking resources, preload the largest contentful paint image, and remove unused javascript.

How do I do this?

So far I’ve tried using:

W3 Total cache
Ewwww Image Optimiser
WP Youtube Light

None of these improve the performance.

I would really appreciate some help!

Thank you for the recommendation.

I have:

  1. Optimised images.
  2. Reduced plugin load.
  3. Minified JS/CSS/Html
  4. Deliver critical CSS.

My desktop page speed is still in the 90’s (great).

And my mobile page speed has increased by an average of 30 for each page. But the mobile speeds are still only around 50 at the moment.

Is there anything more I can do?

Hi Kalam,

The page speed issues are mostly related to the content,image, scripts used in your site and not related to the theme. Still, I will suggest you take any empty page to check the result and add the content to the same page 1 by 1 and check the result again to understand what exactly causes your issue.

Maybe it’s the images and youtube videos.

But what do you mean by scripts?

The scripts means and external code that is added into your site, which may be the reason behind your issue.

External code as in plugins? What are other examples of external code?

Apologies, I’m new to all of this!

I ran a page speed test on a blank page.

Again the desktop results were great. But the mobile speed is still 60 (despite having no content on the page!)

Whats your opinion on this observation?

Hi Kalam,

It will very difficult to say anything without seeing the exact result of it. I would suggest you check and follow the instruction given Google in the result.
Please remember that page speed is out of the scope of theme support.

Ok Tristup, I was directed by my domain host to contact my theme provider.

I hope you can help!

Here are the results for a blank test page.
Mobile = 67
Desktop = 94

Any idea what’s going on?

Hi Kalam,

There are so many factors to consider before you can get a good result in mobile score in Google Page sped. I just suggest that you follow what google recommends to you because this is outside the scope of our theme support. You may seek 3rd party developers to help you with your problems or you can avail One where we can answer questions outside of the features of our theme.
