How to filter the categories with The Grid plugin?

Hello,
I’m using the The Grid plugin to show the portfolio on a page of the site.

For the portfolio I created 5 categories as shown in the figure:

Audio Visualizer Video
Logos & Idents
Lyric Video
Royalty Free Music
Video clips

In the grid I’m trying to create I want to show only 2 of these, Audio Visualizer Video and Lyric Video.

How can I do?

If in Active Filter(s) I add the two categories by dragging them from the Available Filter items list(s), the two buttons are not shown in the front-end.

Hi Daniele,

Thanks for reaching out.

That should work and correct, have you tried adding the filter on the layout section?

If not, please drag and drop it to your preferred layout area. If still not working then please provide your site’s URL and admin login credentials in the secure note.

Thanks!

Yes I tried but it doesn’t work. The two buttons indicating the two categories selected with the filter are not displayed.

I entered the credentials to access the site.
Thank you

Hey Daniele,

This looks like a conflict between WPML and The Grid. If the IT language is used, the filter would be displayed.

In your Grid Settings > General, I chose the EN language but still the issue persists.

Please try creating a separate grid for the EN language then use it for the English page version.

Thanks.

Is it possible to disable the languages for the grid? I don’t need a grid for every language.
Furthermore, even with the language set to IT the filter does not work as it displays the “All (62)” and “Lyric Video (6)” buttons instead of “Audio Visualizer Video” and “Lyric Video”.

Hi again,

Regretfully, I don’t see an option to disconnect WPML from The Grid. Would you mind testing deactivating WPML temporarily so we could see if that will return the filter back to normal behavior? This would just be for confirmation so we could report this in our issue tracker.

Thanks.

I tried to disable the Polylang plugin for multilingual and so the grid works. It is therefore a conflict between the two plugins.

N.B. I use the Polylang plugin and not WPML.

At this point would you kindly tell me how long this problem will be corrected? Thank you.

Hi Daniele,

Regretfully, we can not provide any ETA. I advise reporting this issue to the Polylang support as well so they’ll aware about the conflict.

Thank you for understanding,

I am using the free version of the Polylang plugin and therefore cannot take advantage of developer support.

At this point I hope for an update of the The Grid plugin that solves the issue.

Hey Daniele,

Please note that the support we can offer is limit to the basic functions of the bundled plugins only. Other extended functionalities like making it work with another third party plugins such as a language plugin goes beyond the scope of our support.

Since the issue is caused by the active language plugin, it would be best to get in touch with the original developer of the plugin in this case due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello Daniele,

Have you added any additional information in this thread? I am not able to find out the same, request you please post a fresh reply to avoid any confusion.

Thanks.
