How to eliminate demo-home subdirectory?

Hello. For some reason, “demo-home” became a subdirectory default. I’m not sure how to get rid of it. Here is the example:
https://redpilledamerica.com/blog/demo-home/episode-16/

This doesn’t show up in the permalink when setting up the page (see attached image) but it happens automatically when the page is published.

Just hoping for some direction in how to eliminate the extra “demo-home” subdirectory in future Page posts.

Thanks for writing in! Could you please check your permalink settings under Settings -> Permalinks section and see if there’s any custom permalink added there. You can also regenerate your permalink settings by selecting the option postname and saving the changes.

Also check Settings -> General section and make sure that you have set your site URLs correctly.

Further, please disable your 3rd party plugins and see if you’re experiencing any plugin conflict.

If you’re still having issues, provide us with your WordPress login credentials in a secure note to check your issue further.

I tried the above suggestions with no luck. The credentials are above in the secured note. Please help. Thanks!

Hello @courrielche,

You haven’t assign a page as your Posts Page in Settings > Reading > Your homepage displays so it uses the page slug of your home page which is the demo-home. Please create a new page and assign it as your Posts Page and the demo-home will be change to whatever page slug you have in the newly created page.

If you do not want any page slug and just want the domain and your single post title in the url like https://example.com.com/blog/episode-16/, then go to Settings > Reading > Your homepage displays and set it to Your latest posts instead.
