I am having huge issues with getting a site I’m working on to work well with either stepped or scaling setup under typography. I recently had another query about how to use the responsive header class within the theme and that didn’t work either.
So, my developer has asked me to query how to disable/turn off the theme typography stepped/scaling options - there doesn’t seem to be a way to get this to turn off/not generate CSS output that would require !important to override - which is messy.
Please advise how to turn it off such that we can implement our own scaling?

Hi Mark,
Thank you for writing in, Regretfully, this particular customization request is outside the scope of our support as this is not related to an issue with the theme and instead has to do with your customization of it.
And I don’t see the need of turning off the Root Font Size option as that is only the Root Font Size and not the actual font-size of your text/head, text/head element has a font-size option itself.
If you really need to take off the Root Font Size from the equation, you can set it to Stepped and set everything to 1em and it will fall back to the browser default font-size.
