How to determine what the license number applied on a given site? Is dual license activation issue possible?

I have a total of 3 licenses of the Pro theme from theme.co. I did have a forth license in my account at one time, but transferred this (as a short term measure) to a web developer I have outsourced the work to, so that they can access the forum if they need to as queries arise.

I believe the transferred license was associated with the client’s production and staging domain once transferred, but having looked at my licenses just now both these domains are still associated with one of my 3 remaining licenses, which I now need to allocate to another project.

In short:

  1. Does your system have any error correction built-in to stop domains being allocated to more than one license at a time? Is it possible for the domains in question to be associated with the two licenses, and I just forgot to ‘remove’ the license allocation from my license portal?

  2. Ideally, I would really like a way of being to see what license number has been applied to an installation from the WordPress site side (which I have access to, but I obviously don’t have access to the web devs theme.co account, and they are away presently). Obviously, when the license is activated the license number has to be entered, so is this stored on the site somewhere that I can view it? I cannot find anywhere in WP-admin interface that shows it.

  3. All else failing, is there a way you can check the license associated with the domains in question from your side if I DM you the production and staging domain relevant?

Many thanks in advance

Hi @stormgoose,

Thanks for reaching out.

1.) The license is transferrable to any domain. If you want to use the license to another domain then you can validate that new domain with your license and the previous domain that having that license key will miss an update coming from us and also cannot access the Bundled Plugins and Design Cloud.

2.) There’s no option to check what license key applied to the website inside the WordPress dashboard. The only option you can check the license key is on your themeco account.

3.) If you can give us the license key , we can check what domain is associated with that license.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for replying so quickly and for that information. I think on the 1st point you didn’t quite understand my question though - I’m aware that it’s possible to transfer the license usage to another domain, but my question was is it possible the system could accidentally allocated TWO licenses to the same domain? I’m wondering whether this has happened somehow for the domain in question, and if so if I give you just the license number it may well show up as one of the ones applied.

I’ll send a DM now with the license number and the production and staging domain in question so you can verify the status of both from both perspectives.

Many thanks

Hi @stormgoose,

If you accidentally validate your website twice with different licenses, this could be possible to happen. We will wait just for your email so that we can help you further with your concern.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for clarifying this.

I think there might be the word ‘wait’ missing from your second sentence, otherwise I can’t make sense of it! I’ve dropped a DM direct to your account through this forum, with a secure message with the details in. Have you received this, or do I need to send it again?

Cheers

Hi Bobby,

I already answered your question here.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.
