HOW TO Create: Slider Revolution Font Outline OR Semi Transparent Text Box

On our home page, we have slider revolution at the very top with 7 slides in it. There is a little text written on each slide but on at least 2 of the slides it can be hard to read the font. Depending on where the font lands for certain screen sizes, some of the pictures have such a variety of colors in them, the photo ends up competing with the font color at certain points.

Is there a way to do either of the following:

  1. Have the text on certain slides have an outline around the font that is different color than the actual font itself, so it can stand out. Can this done for a particular slide or is it across all the slides?

  2. Create a semi transparent box that the font could go into?

If these options are available, does it have to be CSS? If so, what do we write and where?

Thanks

Hi there,

Thanks for writing around! Can you please provide the URL of your site so we can take a look at your setup?

Thanks!

Hi There,

You can either add a background-color to your text layer.

Or add a text shadow as outlined in your text layer. You can add CSS to your layer, in the Advanced CSS tab > Layer. Place it inside the { } brackets.

If you don’t see this options on your end, please click the Advanced Style toggle.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Great! That helped a lot. I had two slides in Revolution Slider that needed help making the text stand out from the background photos and I ended up putting the text inside a semi transparent box for both of them and also used the drop shadow for one of them. They look much better and much more professional now. The photos you included in your description also helped easily understand what you were trying to explain.

Greatly appreciate the help.
