How to change background-color behind section images

In Ethos (02) stack on front page, there are different sections with different background images and a background-color that shows at bottom behind image (even cropped to 1500x750px) … a bright green: rgb(32, 114, 50). I’ve tried using customize>custom>css in a variety of ways to change that green BG color with no luck. And within Theme Options, Customize or Pro Edit, there is not built-in a way to change the BG color like there is, for instance, to change the BG image. I tried in Pro Edit for that page in the section with the background image under the “style” window just typing “background-color: #101019;” … again, no luck. I think this is the specific code:

I didn’t really understand what exactly you trying to achieve here. I Checked the Ethos Demo 2, there is no background color as all the sections are image parallax.

I would like you to create a screencast video of what exactly you are trying to do so that we can give you a proper solution for your issue.

Site is still local now, so no URL yet. If you start from your Ethos 02 demo, which I did, and start replacing those images on the front page, there is a green BG in your demo, which is what is leftover. Part of my screencast shows the style attribute with the original demo background-color: rgb(32, 114, 50) - and as you can see when I remove the images, there’s green and gray BG color (as well as the first one with the page BG color I installed). Not sure about the gray. I don’t use gray in my palette, but I guess I did that. Anyway … does this show you enough? I am working with a child theme, so have that stylesheet I can add a new style to re: this.

Hi Mary,

Thank you for the screencast, I think the reason why is that green/gray bg-color is showing up is that your bg-images are not big enough, did you follow the suggested size on the place-holders?

That green/gray bg-color that we are seeing is the section’s background-color

It won’t show up if your parallax bg-image is big enough to cover the section.

Yes, the sizing of images is correct. I had added in additional padding, which goofed things up. Fixed that. And I now see the BG color. Sorry I missed that. Thanks a bunch for your help and patience!
