How to add tile on word-press stories archive page?

Ref URL: https://learnmechanical.com/stories/

Hello Saswata,

Thanks for writing to us

You can title for the Archive page from here.
Go to the Category / Tags
Edit the Category or Tag -> Here you would get two text box called “Archive Title” and “Archive Subtitle”. Add the Title and subtitle here

Thanks

Hi, thanks for the response, but there is nothing like stories. These are actually web stories. But in tag or category nothing like story available.

Hello Saswata,

Regretfully this option is only available for the Category and Tags Archive page only. It is not available for the Custom Post Type Archive pages at the moment.

If you want this feature, It would require custom development. I would suggest you consult a developer who can assist you to do the customization.

Thanks for understanding

Hi, Can you help me in the right direction for adding the title?

Hello Saswata,

Are you referring to the title or tile (could be tile item)? The example URL, https://learnmechanical.com/stories/ is actually a post archive. If you want to add tile items, you will have to go to Posts > Add New and then you create new post items. Just make sure to add a category Web Story so that when you publish the post, it will also be displayed in the Stories archive.

Hope this helps. Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hi @ruenel

Thanks for the suggestions. But in stories, there is nothing like selecting a category. Here is my dashboard.

I recommend you please open posts in the stories section, then you can have the idea what exactly it is, these stories are just launched by Google with the name Web Stories.

Thanks.

Hey Saswata,

What you want to achieve looks like a carousel slider and you can achieve that using Slider Revolution. Check out the carousel demos here https://revolution.themepunch.com/examples/#carousel

For the Carousel usage instructions, please see the Carousel documentation here https://www.themepunch.com/slider-revolution/carousel-settings/

You can find the full documentation links in the sidebar of ThemePunch’s Slider Revolution documentation.

Hope that helps.

Hi, no you completely missed.

“Stories” is not just a category, it is the new post format launched by Google. This type of post is called web stories (here is how it looks https://learnmechanical.com/stories/metal-forming-process/).

So my query is when I publish these stories, I want to add the archive name. As of now seems like x theme don’t support stories archive so can I do it manually? Here is the archive address learnmechanical.com/stories. You can see that the title of this archive page is blank. You can see our other archive pages on how the title appears. So can you tell me how can I add title on this particular archive page? (Above URL).

I hope I am able to express my query.

Thanks.

Hi @ruenel thanks for the help, please find the access mentioned top of the post. Thanks!

Hi Saswata,

Google Stories is a third party service which does not have integration with WordPress archive pages…
So to show the title Stories in the Stories archive pages along with all the stories, would require customization and which is beyond the scope of theme support.

I would suggest you hire a developer who can assist you to do the customization or you can avail of our newly launched service called One, where the customization questions are answered.
You can also find the details on the custom archive page here in this article: https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/template-files-section/custom-post-type-template-files/#custom-post-type-templates

Thanks

Is not there’s a easier way to add the Title in that particular archive page? I just want the the title only.

Hey Saswata,

No. It’s controlled by Google Stories. Also, if you want to add something from Google Stories, it would require custom development. I’d strongly recommend you consult with a developer that can work closely with you for this project.

Thank you for understanding.
