How to add specific sidebar to specific post type?

Hi,
I am trying (without effect so far) to add sidebar to single posts. I created sidebar but it shows only on blog page, not on single posts.
Is there any possibility to make this?

Hi Jan,

Thanks for reaching out.

Have you assigned your created sidebar to the post? Else, it will use the default Main Sidebar. Please try adding your widgets to the main sidebar and test it again instead to the created sidebar.

Assigning a sidebar to the blog or category will not assign it to the posts.

Hi Rad,
thank you for reaching out. Does it mean that I have to manually pick every post to assign blog sidebar to it? Even when I publish new post I have to attach sidebar to it? It doesn’t make much sense. Did I understand it correctly?

PS: Is there any option how to assign sidebar from edit post page?

Hi Jan,

Yes, please assign the sidebar to each post or utilize the Main sidebar which is applicable for all posts. The purpose of custom sidebar is for specific pages and posts, else, main sidebar should be used. Though, I agree that there should be away to assign it per post type and it’s already added to our issue tracker as feature request.

Thanks Rad,
I need to use specific sidebars for pages, posts and another custom post types. I will do it manually as you said and hope this feature comes soon. Otherwise this would be show stopper for me and this website in a long run.
