How to add element id to V2 button to track in GTM?

I have added a custom ID to v2 button elements. However, when looking through the GTM preview at the variables, nothing is being passed through to “click ID”. I am I looking in the correct place, or has this not been solved yet with V2 button elements?

How will this enable me to identify different buttons with the same class? Will this push the this info the dataLayer where I will also need to declare another variable?

Also, the eventLabel is “boek-1-demo”, is this correct or shall I give this any name I want?

Hi There.

You need to have a different Class/Id for your buttons, and have a separate JS code for each button. You need to change the boek-1-demo with your own eventLabel.
