How to add bbPress parent forum page to X Pro page

Hello support,

I’ve added some new bbPress Forums to my X Pro child theme based site.

What I’d like to do is add the parent Forum to a page so I can edit the layout of it with Pro Design, and link to it with Ubermenu - so users can see a complete list of child forums.

The bbPress way of doing this is to add a shortcode to the page, but I know that you don’t recommend shortcode usage anymore!

What’s the recommended way for me to do this now please?

Thanks in advance!

James

Hey James,

What do not recommend is the use of X Shortcodes only. That is because there mostly are elements equivalent in the builder.

It is important to note though that not all shortcodes could work in the builder. We have no control over how shortcodes from different authors output the code. With that said, if the bbPress shortcode conflicts with the builder, you will need to customize the bbPress template. For that, you’ll need to seek help from bbPress support of forums.

Thanks.

Hi Christian,

Thank you for coming back to me.

I understand what you’re saying. Where can I add a shortcode to a page in X Pro please?

Thanks!

Hey James,

You can add the shortcode in a Content Area Element.

Hope that helps.

It does, you’re doing great work, thank you so much Christian and I hope you’re staying safe in these crazy times

You’re welcome, James. And, thank you for your concern. Stay safe too.
