How to activate the sidebar of the blog page? And how do I edit the blog page?

Hello (x pro)

I created a blog page and wrote posts under categories. How can I edit the blog page (set as post page) in the frontend now?

How do I add and edit a sidebar and layout the blog page?

For Example: I want to write a short intro text on the blog page and display the posts below. I would like the sidebar to be to the right of it.

Thanks for witing in!

1.) You can set a page as your Post page in Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays. Just remember that once the page has been set as your post page, any contents will be discarded. WordPress will automatically generates post items dynamically. The layout will be using the built in design in the theme. You can tweak the blog index layout by going to Pro > {your stack} > Blog Option and in Pro > Blog. For further details, please check this out:

2.) You can edit the sidebar by adding widgets in Appearance > Widgets. You can change the layout of the blog page by going to Pro > Blog > Style and Pro > Blog > Layout.

For example, adding a text in your sidebar:

  • Go to Appearance > Widgets
  • Insert a Text widget into the Main Sidebar
  • Add your short intro text into the widget

Hi Janine,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Please navigate to Theme Options > Layout and Design then set the Content Layout to Content Left, Sidebar Right to have a sidebar on the right

Then navigate to Theme Options > Blog > Layout and set to Use Global Content Layout

To add items in the sidebar, go to Appearance > Widgets and add widgets to your Main Sidebar

Blog pages are not editable either in Cornerstone or WordPress editor, to customize it, you may need a different approach, you can follow this thread https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/blog-and-archivies-pages-customization/67995/2

Thank you a lot.
I have made the appropriate settings (again) and even rebuilt the blog page. the sidebar is still not displayed (on the blog page, it works for the contributions themselves)
Is there a bug somewhere?

Hey Janine,

The sidebar is activated in your blog page. You’re widget area, Angebote CD, is empty. Please put widgets to it. I’ve temporarily placed an Archive widget so you could see that it works.
