How do you update pro theme from 6.1.5 to newest version? There is no button available to click update

Hello, I hope you are doing well.
I built some websites about a year ago and I have just tried to log back into them and there was a fatal error when I tried to load the Wordpress login page so I contacted my hosting support and they told me to deactivate all plugins but that didn’t help. Then they said it could be due to the theme so I manually changed it to the twentytwentytwo theme in phpmyadmin and it allowed me to load up the Wordpress login page and login.
Then I went to appearance > themes and I can see I am able to update all the stock Wordpress themes but there is no option to update the pro theme. Currently, it has version 6.1.5 but I can’t see the option to update it to the newest version. It looks as if there is no update available but I can see there is a newer version available when I log into my themeco account.
Can you please help?

Hi @Advasa,

Thanks for reaching out.
It is not very clear why the automatic update option is not available at your end. There might be some different reasons behind your issue, I would like to suggest troubleshooting the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Theme Related Issue
2.Plugin Conflict
3.Theme Update related issue
4.Child Theme Related issue ** if you have activated it.
5.CSS/JS Customization
6.Disabling Cache
7.Disabling CDN

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of these help, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

NOTE: Alternatively, you can download the latest version of the theme from your Themeco Account and upload it manually through the FTP or after deleting the existing theme version from the WordPress admin dashboard.

Thanks

Hello @tristup

Thank you for your response.
I have deactivated all plugins (I can’t see the cornerstone plugin in the list of deactivated plugins but I’m using pro theme) and reverted to the twenty twenty two theme which is what allowed me to access the Wordpress login page and log in. I have also disabled cache and the website was never on a CDN.
I have added the secure note with website URL and admin login details.
I appreciate your help.

Thanks
Justin

Hey Justin,

You can try to manually update the theme to the latest version by downloading theme files from your Themeco account and uploading them to your website. Here are the things you should do:

  • Activate the default WordPress theme ( this will allow you to delete the current Pro theme )
  • Delete the Pro theme
  • Download the latest version of the theme from your account
  • Upload it to your website and activate your child theme

Hope that helps.
