How do separators work?

I’ve searched the Knowledgebase for Separators and not found just a general descriptions of what they are and do. I’ve tried adding top and bottom separators with 50 px or even 650px separators, just to see the effect, but even with 650px I still don’t see any effect.

Please point me to a general description of what separators are and how they work. Thanks!

Thanks for writing around! As the name suggests Separators are to separate sections in style. You just need to enable either section top separator or section bottom separator to make them appear. Currently there are four available types for a separator:

  • Angle In
  • Angle Out
  • Curve In
  • Curve Out

For Angles based types you can set the angle point by adjusting the slider and for others set the height of your separator. In the live preview you can check the output of your settings.

I tested the separators locally with different values of height even with 650px and it works as expected. Can you please share the URL of your site so we can take a look?

Can you only use one separator per section? Is there a ratio for how they display?

There’s no limit of the separators in a section. And the ratio depends on your design and aesthetics.

Do they work with background images, or just background color ?

Hi There,

Just solid colors.

But for example, if you have a section the divides a background image from a solid color and you add the separator to your solid color section it will give you the same effect as if you would have added in the image section.
