I saw on the October 2 status report a reference to “Effects Module” how do I access that??

This feature not available in the stable version of our theme it is only available in the beta version. If you want to use it you can download the beta version of the theme from your Themeco account.
It would be best if you could copy your live site to a staging server where you can update the theme with the beta version and use the new feature without breaking your live site.
