How do I set headers/footers on translated pages (X Pro)

Hi There,

I cannot figure out how to set the headers and footer I build to translated pages and other (NOT translated) pages in the different language.

How do I do this?

Kind regards
Victor

Hi @TelecatsNL,

Thanks for reaching out.

The pro header/footer will automatically display the header and footer that is applicable to the current and active page language. You don’t have to assign it for each translated page

Example, let’s say you have Home - English, just assign your header or footer there. And once you switch to Home - German page, it should display the applicable header and footer for the German language too. In which you created in the header builder by clicking the language flag.

May I know which translation plugin you’re using? I recommend WPML as it’s directly integrated to the header builder. The language flags should be visible in the header/footer buider’s preview.

Thanks!

Hi there,
I use WPML.
Found info on this thread (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/wpml-header-translation/14486) but when I translate a header (dutch menu) to English, I cannot select any of the English menu’s.

Also I can not select any other English pages. (translated or not) Many of the English pages are NO translation of a dutch page.

How do I set the header for these pages?

Is there any documentation / video about how to work with translations in the header builder?

Thanks

Hello There,

Thanks for updating in!

To properly translate X/Pro pages, please check out this documentation:

And before you can translate the header and footer, you will need to enable cs_header and cs_footer first in WPML > Translation Management > Multilingual Content Setup > Post Types Translation.

After it is enabled, you should be able to edit the custom header/footer in different language just like how you translate the post/page contents.

For your reference: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/pro-wpml-header-builder-translation-not-possible/26819/2, https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/translate-pro-header-custom-buttons/26087,

Hope this helps.

Thanks, that did help. However I still have to work around to set headers to other language pages.
