I have a template where I need to change one thing in a template and therefore replicate that change across all the pages based upon that template (hence “template”). After perusing the forum, including old posts that no longer apply, and looking through the docs, I cannot find how to do this simple task.
Hello @Barango,
Thanks for writing to us.
Please note if you change in one template it is not going to render throughout the website, in case you want to make changes at one place and it would display across all the pages, I would suggest you use Global Block. Please have a look at our doc to learn more about how to Global Block and achieve the features that you want.
Thanks
Ok… so how do I edit a template?
Hello @Barango,
You cannot reallyedit a template. What you can do is to load your template into a page, make your changes and then save the page as a template again using the same template name so that the previous template name will be overwritten.
Check out my demo video here:
Hope this makes sense.
Thank you for taking time to do that video - it explains it very well. I was stuck on not clicking the Outline mode button to reveal the Save Template button. (Not an obvious UI design by the way.)
Thanks.
Hey @Barango,
You’re welcome! If you have any other concerns or clarifications regarding our theme features, feel free to open up a new thread.
Thank you.
