How do I backup my database files so I can get the latest version of WP?

I haven’t been maintaining my blog for the past year and am just now getting back into it. How do I backup my SQL files? The link on the WP support page was broken I already created a .zip file of everything else on my FTP site.

Hi Maria,

You will need to access your hosting service provider panel and backup your database there depending on which platform they use. If they use PHPMyAdmin you can do it this way:

But it is a better idea that you contact your hosting service provider and ask them for more details.
