How do I add a Blog page to my site?

I wasn’t sure if I’d need this sooner or later, but in order to customize the Search output page it looks like I need to custom the Blog Listing page. Great. How do I create a page that has blog content? I do not see any templates that look like they will contain blog posts? I’m confused. Thanks!

Thanks for writing in!

To create your custom blog index, simply do the following:

  • Go to Pages and create a new page entitled “Blog”
  • And then go to Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays assign the newly created “Blog” page as your “Posts Page”

You can tweak your blog index to have a standard or masonry layout by going to X > Theme Options > Blog and in X > Theme Options > {your stack} > Blog Options.

WordPress will dynamically generate post items when you visit the blog page (http://example.com/blog for example). For more details about creating your custom blog page, please check this codex:
