How Could I Pull In My Case Studies Dynamically Into A Page Using The Layout Builder

I currently have a page built in the pro content builder and I’m using Essential Grid to show my case studies in a grid with pagniation.

I want to replace Essential Grid with the layout builder to have more control and optimise performance further.

I can’t seem to see a way of pulling my case studies in instead of my blog posts.

Could you help or point me in the right direction please?

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan,

Sure! This is possible as long as your case studies are powered by a WordPress post type (sounds like they are). Give this a try

  • Add a Posts element to your page
  • Inspect the Posts element. When you hover on it in the Breadcrumbs you should see “Looper Provider” as one of the active statuses.
  • Click to the Customize tab of the Inspector and look for the Looper Provider settings
  • By default it will be “Recent Posts” but if you change that to “Query Builder” you will be able to choose another post type to power the query.

At this point you should be able to get your Case Studies to display. From there you can style them as needed. Hopefully this helps shed some light on the process!

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for your help with this.

I’ve managed to change the looper to use my portfolio items now and it’s looking great.

I’ve used this layout builder on my blog archive, blog posts and now my case studies too.

Really like it and it’s very easy to use.

Thanks

Dan

You are most welcome Danny.
