How can I display a YouTube video as a background without black bars?

I have a section with a YouTube video displayed in the background. A previous developer turned parallax on and scaled the video way up in order to minimize black bars, but at some screen/window widths they still show. I need the video to cover the background without black bars no matter what the screen/window width is.

I see some very old responses here that indicate self-hosting the video is the only way to accomplish this. Is that still true? Either way, what settings would I use?

Hello Jon,

Thanks for writing in! You cannot use a YouTube video as a background video because you do not have any control over the video or the video frame. It is highly recommended that a self-hosted video or a direct video file URL absolute video file path be used.

Best Regards.
