Hi! I discovered that my hovereffects and dropdowns stopped working today. I have tried to disable all caching and all plugins. Checked that the correct menus’ are assigned. Re-installed Pro. But nothing helps. The hovereffect seem to work on Firefox but not in Chrome. Can you please help me? Thank you in advance!
Please! Does anyone have a suggestion to how I can solve this?
Hi, no solution, but I have just had a client report the very same thing… the dropdown have stopped working. Header menu jumping to different spacing and sizes and no dropdown. The site that was working fine and nothing has been touched. Sigh.
Dropdown menu is working fine on Safari it seems but not Chrome and Firefox. This is pretty urgent, I am about to lose this client cos of so many ongoing issues.
Hi Karen. I visited your site on Edge, Chrome and Firefox and the dropdown menu shows in every browser. Did you do something to fix it?
Yes, all the usual stuff, disabled all plugins, checked for scripts, disabled Cloudflare, purged every cache, basically a whole load of time last night, contacted Cloudways where it is hosted as I have LOADS of issues with their (IMO) aggressive caching systems, it seemed fixed before they got to it, but they say they:
1:) Enabled short tag open on the server level by accessing your console > server settings and packages > short tag open.
2:) We have also purged varnish on the server level which resolved this issue. You can further check and verify it from the attached screenshot.
To be fair they were courteous and helpful, but still cannot be certain what exactly fixed it or why it occurred. Logically speaking, as nothing was changed (but who knows, cos the client has access to edit) it could very well have been server/caching related. I was unable to clear the cache entirely.
I hope you get your issue fixed soon.
Hey @KarenCooper,
It’s good to know that your issue has been resolved.
@dalvanel:
Thanks for writing in! I have tried logging in to your site. Regretfully the password is not working for us. Please double check it. I have investigated your site and I found out that you are using WP Rocket and CloudFlare. Please clear your WP Rocket cache and regenerate the minified files before you test your site. You also need to login to your CloudFlare account and purge everything. It is best that you make sure that you are using the best recommended CloudFlare settings which can be found here: https://xthemetips.com/using-cloudflare-rocket-loader-with-x-pro-and-x5/928/
Please keep in mind that by default, all the JS and CSS files in the theme were already minified. Please do not minify JS and CSS to prevent any issues such as what you are experiencing right now.
Please let us know how it goes.
Hi!
I will try the suggested solutions and see if that helps. Thank you for the link!
Hi @dalvanel ,
It still loaded with rocket loader and probably served through CF cache. And it looks different in the builder side which is highly due to CF too. Please provide your CF login credentials as well.
Thanks!
Hi @Rad,
I have disabled Rocket Loader and minification for Javascript on Cloudflare and now my menu is working fine. Thank you for all your help!
Glad all is working now.
Cheers!
