Homepage menu problem

Hi,
I have a problem with the homepage of the site http://www.martatoni.com/.
The problem is in the display of the menu: I do not know why but it is wrong compared to other pages (eg http://www.martatoni.com/commercial-design/).
I tried to disable all the plugins, change the child theme with the parent theme, remove all the custom css and js and I also tried to set the homepage with another page but I could not solve it.
In addition I noticed that if I try to enter in Cornerstone I am reported this error:
“The preview was unresponsive after loading.” This is most often related to a plugin conflict or aggressive page cacheing. "

Can you help me?

Thanks in advance

P.s. in a secure note I will give you the login credentials, if you need them

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! It appears that you are using an ooutdated X (5.2.5) and Cornerstone 2.1.7. In most cases, out dated theme or plugins could create issues in your site. Could you please update to the latest versions?
Our latest versions are:
- X theme 6.2.0
- Cornerstone 3.2.0

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

_After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.-

Please let us know how it goes.

Hi,
I manually updated both X and Cornerstone and I cleaned up the cache but nothing, still the problem is not solved …

Hello There,

Thanks for updating in! I have inspected your site and I can confirmed that X theme and Cornerstone is using the latest version. I even turn off your WP Super Cache. Still, the homepage displays X 5.2.5 and Cornerstone 2.1.7. It is as if the homepage is displaying a cache version of the site. Does your server has a caching feature? Please provide us ftp access so that we can investigate further.

Thanks.

Ok,
here are the login credentials

Hi,

The ftp login provided doesn’t seem to be working.

Kindly check again and let us know.

Thanks

I checked the credentials and they work for me … but I noticed that from the panel of the hosting control there is an ftp block, could that be the problem?
In any case, I can turn it off for a few hours and I have deactivated the filter for 12 hours from now.
Could you try again to access it kindly?

Thanks

Hi,

I can see that your theme and plugins are updated from admin dashboard but on the front end it is showing a different version. It means that a cache version is the one showing up.

Please try to contact your host and see if there are any caching enabled in your server.

Thanks

Hi,
I contacted my host and he assured me that there are no caching services in the hosting…
At this point, what’s the problem?

Thanks

Hello @solid7d,

Thanks for updating the thread.

It’s quite weird what’s happening on your website. First I see multiple error messages on the website, especially related with ethos.css file is not present. Here is the error message.

Next, as mentioned by my colleague @paul.r in backend I see X Theme and Cornerstone are up to date. However, your home page is using old version of X Theme and Cornerstone. Other pages are fine and are running latest version. In that regards it’s quite evident that the problem is because home is loading from cached resource. Here is a screencast.

Thanks.

Thanks @Prasant,
but you have not added anything to the discussion … it is understood that the site on the homepage loads a previous cache version of X and Cornerstone, but what I am asking you is how to solve this problem!
I gave you access to Wordpress and credentials for FTP access … could you kindly solve these problems?

Thanks…

Hi There,

Sorry, I did everything I could but no luck. But there are a few things that I can not do on a live site which you can try.

  • Try switching to parent X theme and see if that resolves the issue.
  • Update to latest X version 6.2.2 and Cornerstone 3.2.2.
  • Install Transient Cleaner plugin and Remove All Transients

I did keep a block of code (see example #1 here) on the .htaccess file to make sure the site is not serving a cache. You can remove this after the issue is resolved.

Let us know how it goes,
Cheers!

Thanks @friech,
I tried everything you wrote to me, but nothing!
In the .htaccess file there was already the code of the example 1 of the link you gave me and then I tried the second one but nothing, so I went back to the first one.
So I updated X and Cornerstone, I removed all transients with Transient Cleaner, I changed with the relative theme, but nothing, the problem remains …

Please help me!!!

Hi There,

I could see that you’re using the WP Super Cache plugin.

Please follow this guide to completely uninstall this plugin:

https://www.debyum.com/how-to-completely-uninstall-wp-super-cache/

Let us know how it goes!

Hi,
I proceeded to uninstall the plugin and I followed the guide: there were no traces of WP Super Cache neither in the files, nor in wpconfig, nor in htaccess …
As I repeat I left you access to both Wordpress and FTP, if there are checks to be done you can proceed without problems, ok?
Please help me to solve this annoying problem!

Thanks

Hi There @solid7d

I have deleted your X theme, re-install it again but I’m still seeing the cached version.

Please contact your hosting provider and resolve this issue through them as they have full access to your your server and also the issue is not related to X theme.

Thanks!
