Hi my website uses video content hosted on Vimeo and displayed using Slider Rev. Everything works fine but if certain companies block Vimeo through their firewall you get this ugly “Vimeo API could not be loaded” banner across the screen where the video should be playing. Is there a way to make Slider Rev hide this banner and just display the video’s poster image instead?
Hi Laurie,
Thank you for writing in, Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third-party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to the theme will need to be directed to the original developer. Please contact the Vimeo support instead they might have an event function for when that error occurred.
Thank you for your understanding.
Thanks, I don’t think Vimeo will have the answer as the banner is being created by Slider Revolution in response to a company firewall blocking access to Vimeo. I’ll purchase a full licence for Slider Rev and raise a support ticket with them.
Thank you Laurie,
If the problem is something that can be handled by a simple CSS we might be of help. So the idea will be that we will force the banner to hide if it is there via CSS, but it will still show the slider anyways so you will see a white screen at the top which I’m not sure how practical with would be.
The other point that I should mention is that Revolution Slider has an option to use a poster image whenever the video is not available. I’m not sure if it will work on your case, but if you did not set that poster image it is a good idea to give it a try here: (Check the Vimeo section)

Thank you.
