Hide Breadcrumb space on Home Page only

I’m using X theme with the Renew stack - http://898.6bc.myftpupload.com/

I’d like to get rid of the space for breadcrumbs on my home page only. I used the inspection function in Chrome and see if I uncheck the padding style for x-header.landmark, the space goes away. But when I tried to add custom css to my site, the style has no impact.

I added the below style to the CSS for the homepage only -

x-header.landmark {padding: 0px; 0px;}

.home .x-header-landmark {
    display:none;
}
