Hero video header auto play not working?

hi guys

having problem with a video hero header. It wont autoplay.
i clicked autoplay option and still not working visitors have to manually click play
this kind of takes away from the effect im trying to create.

Any help would be good

also i have been told most mobile device dont auto play videos by deafult.
However i have been on sites where videos have autoplayed so there must be a work around.

any advice please

Thank you for reaching out to us. I believe you’re trying to add a background video with autoplay option, you can do this by adding a background video to a section easily using Cornerstone. First add a section then under Setup enable Advanced Background option. You’ll see Background Lower Layer and Background Upper Layer options. Under Background Lower Layer select the Video type and input your Video Source in the field (see screenshot)

If you don’t see those option then you need to enable the advanced mode first (see screenshot)

Another option to add a background video is using Revolution Slider above / below masthead. To do this edit your page in WordPress page editor, activate the Slider Settings: Above / Below Masthead and then include your video URL in Optional Background Video.

Background videos wont play on touch devices but instead display the poster image (see screenshot below) as fallback on mobile devices since having a video background is only good for desktop screes. For smaller screens and devices, aside from being a bandwidth hogger and data costly, this will still not work either on tablets nor smartphones as there is no autostart(autoplay) on mobile and that videos don’t play inline on smartphones. They usually open in the mobile player.
