Hentry errors in Google Search Console part2

I am replying to this post which was closed, while I was waiting to see if Google would update their results: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/hentry-errors-in-google-search-console/28167/2.

I have cleared the site cache many times but nothing seems to have changed the errors I am now getting on the HTTPS version of my site. The HTTPS site is exactly the same as the old HTTP so I don’t get why there are so many new issues being highlighted.

I enlose some screenshots to further illustrate the problems.

HTTPS issues within Google Search Console are below:

HTTP version of the site as shown in Google Search Console:

Could you let me know what can be done to resolve these issues please?
I will be happy to provide logins or further information if you need it.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

I’m not sure what I’m looking at, the links don’t display any image. Just a blank area, would you mind providing your site’s URL?

This is probably related to post sliders, carousels, or index pages that use post_class. Since there is hentry, Google will find more information/schema even if it’s purpose is not schema related (eg. sliders and carousels).

Thanks!

That’s strange when I click on the links they open with screenshots of the mentioned errors.
My site is https://eyetooth-art.co.uk.

I’m unsure if there are errors with the homepage, but a lot of the other pages are showing issues. For example: https://eyetooth-art.co.uk/music-design.
it actually looks like it’s virtually all the pages on my site.

Please let me know if you need login details or anything else.

Hi eyetooth,

Since the most recent error in the screenshot seems to be on 7th of April and when I check this page with Google structured data tool, I didn’t get those 24 hentry reported in the screenshot!

I recommend asking Google to recrawl your website using this method. this should at least report some recent data.

Thanks.

I have already updated the sitemap many times since initially reporting the issue. I have also waited over a month for things to be updated but there are still (‘author’ and other) errors showing on almost every page on my https version of my site.
I am not willing to enter 130 urls for both mobile and desktop manually into Google, especially if it is not going to make any difference.
The reason that you are not getting the 24 errors on ‘https://eyetooth-art.co.uk/portfolio/page/2/’ is because the page has been removed and redirected to https://eyetooth-art.co.uk/design-portfolio, but there are still issues.
The problem is getting worse, not better, as there are now 130 errors, where there used to be only 94.
Literally every single page on my site has at least one error associated with it.
Is there anything within the theme that could be causing these issues?

Hi there,

Does that mean the 24 errors are now fixed? As it’s being redirected to another page where the grid is.

The total errors are from many different pages so we need to find it one at a time. Even a slider could trigger this error, it’s like google expects a complete information if it finds a schema. Hence, it’s better off not using schema if its main purpose is part of a design, but you can’t control that since Wordpress can have multiple plugins and themes from different authors that have their own standard.

Would you mind providing the URL list that has this errors? Maybe I could find some temporary solution like echoing the entry title. But if this happens to be within a plugin, then I can’t do that.

Thanks!

Hi again,
As I have mentioned many times in my messages above, this is only happening on the HTTPS version of my site, which I find quite strange, so I think that now needs to be addressed.
Google is only showing 6 items on 3 pages, 0 items with errors, on the url http://eyetooth-art.co.uk, while exactly the same sight at https://eyetooth-art.co.uk (primary instance of the domain) is showing 434 items on 152 pages, 150 items with errors on 53 pages.

An example of a page with issues is:

Pretty much every other page on my site is also showing the same error as the above page too.

Hey @eyetooth,

I checked this page https://eyetooth-art.co.uk/design-services/web-design/html/ in the structured testing tool and it has one error and it’s coming from your Squirrly SEO Plugin.

Next page I tested is this https://eyetooth-art.co.uk/design-portfolio/. It has the same error as above and it’s coming from the SEO plugin.

Another URL I tested is this https://eyetooth-art.co.uk/category/branding-post/. This time, it has 3 errors. Again, coming from Squirrly.

We understand this is frustrating but we need to check if this issue is caused by Pro. Would you mind deactivating your SEO plugin and then fetch those URLs in the structured testing tool? If this does not fix the issue, please keep the SEO plugin deactivate so it will not introduce the errors that I showed you while we are investigating.

Thanks.

Thank you for highlighting the issues with Squirrel. I have contacted them to see if they can shed any light on why this is happening.
I will let you know when I have heard back from them.

Thanks. Let us know how it goes.
