Help with specific translation issue (WPML)

Hi there,

I’m having a lot of issues with WPML / Cornerstone. I followed about 20 tutorials and changed all kind of settings in WPML. With most pages I have a successful translation now (however, still a lot of strange behaviour, for some texts the translations are randomly disappearing).

But, I have a specific issue which I really need help with.

This page: https://www.ecovat.eu/projecten/
Which is translated into this page: https://www.ecovat.eu/projects/?lang=en

I’m missing all images in the WPML translation tool. I’ll be happy to give you credentials to the website so you can have a look.

Many thanks in advance.

Hello @slimenvoordelig,

Thanks for writing in!

As of today the supported version of WPML is 4.2.5. I see that you are using WPML version 4.2.7.1. To avoid any compatibility issues, I would suggest you to downgrade to the supported version of WPML 4.2.5. Post downgrading, please clear cache and then reload the page again.

To know about the process to downgrade WPML, please take a look at following thread:

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

This is not an issue caused by the version, because it exists for a longer time already. I downgraded to 4.2.5 (version from April 2019? Almost 3 months old, unacceptable) but that broke the multilingual functionality because other WPML components are also updated. I don’t know to what version I have to downgrade each component.

So, please tell me the version of each component of WPML or just check if our wpml/page settings are correct and quickly check the specific page I asked.

Thanks!

Hi @slimenvoordelig,

Try the following version of components please:
WPML String Translation 2.10.3
Translation Management 2.8.4
Media Translation 2.5.1

How did you translate the page? The content is really different when I inspect the source. Please translate the page using the flag icon you can find on the lower right part when you edit the page using Cornerstone editor.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Lely!!!

That was the one thing I needed to know…that we have to do the actual translation within Cornerstone (I missed the flags earlier) and not use the WPML editor.

Resolved
