[HELP NEEDED] I want to go back to previous version!

After just updating X, I came to the horrifying discovery that my website is now a big mess!
A basic layout I made, used by 80% of the pages(posts) is completely messed up, many images are not showing, special characters (like menu arrows) are gone and some plugins are behaving weirdly.

TBH I had not updated X since the beginning we started using it (about a year ago). I really need to go back to that initial version (though I don’t know what version that was).
Is there a place where I can download older versions??

After installing 7.2.3 I did try to install the latest “stable” version (7.1.2) That was slightly better, but still nothing like you want to show as a business website.

Please help, I am kinda desperate here…

(edit)
NB. I did not realise I had to update Cornerstone separately. But I just did and it fixed some problems (images are back and special characters showing properly) layout is still messed up majorly.

Hello @mthelissen,

Thanks for writing in! When updating to X theme 7.2.3, please make sure that you have updated Cornerstone to 4.2.3 as well. After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

And please clear your browser cache too. You may use private browsing mode in testing your site to make sure that you are viewing the latest codes from the updates and not the cached version in your browser.

Lastly, since you have a child theme, please make sure that your modifications in the child theme is not causing any conflict or issues. If it does, please switch to the parent theme first and test your site again. For more troubleshooting after your updates, please check these common issues which usually the case.

Best Regards.

Thanks for the suggestions. I already did clear all cache (browser too) and wiped the transients with no results.

Luckily I found a very old backup, from which I could restore the older version (theme and cornerstone plug-in) so everything is working fine again. Will look into the problem and update when I have more time the figure out what was going wrong.

You are most welcome.
