Help Needed: Blog Header Size won't change on Legacy X Theme (CSS/Settings ignored)

I am using a legacy version of the X Theme with Cornerstone . I am having an issue where my blog post headers are “humongous,” and I cannot seem to shrink them site-wide.

The Situation:

  • I use Cornerstone for my main pages, but I use the Standard WordPress Editor for my blog posts.
  • My site has a customized header (built years ago to allow my logo to overhang the navbar).
  • I have tried changing the Root Font Size and Heading Font Size in Theme Options > Typography , but it doesn’t affect the blog headers.
  • I have tried adding Custom CSS with !important tags to target .entry-title and .h-landmark , but the site is ignoring the code.
  • I am using LiteSpeed Cache and have performed a “Purge All,” but the headers remain the same size.

The Problem: Even after adding CSS to the Theme Options, the headers do not change. I suspect there may be a “cache lock” or a hard-coded style in my Child Theme (possibly in the landmark or brand files) that is overriding the global settings.

Could you please help me identify:

  1. Why my Theme Options/CSS are being bypassed?
  2. Which CSS selector I should be using for this specific custom setup to force a smaller font size?
  3. If there is a specific template file I need to edit to change the header scaling?

Thank you for your help!

Hello @Eyeappealdesign,

Thanks for writing in!

Checking your blog post article, I am seeing this:

The headings are now smaller because of this custom CSS.

.single-post .entry-content h1, .single-post .entry-content h2 {
   font-size: 24px !important;
   margin-top: 15px !important;
}

If you want to change the font sizes of the headings (h1, h2,…, h6), you may need a custom CSS for that. Perhaps these old threads can help:

Hope this helps.
