Headings Come Undone when Updating X from 5.2.2 to 6.1.6

Hi there! One of my X sites, theantgroup.com is behaving weirdly when I update to 6.1.6. It’s changing up my heading fonts and making them ENORMOUS.

Here’s what it should look like: https://www.dropbox.com/s/46h8bmjkifp5rht/2018-07-04_12-50-07-BEFORE-X-Update-to-616.jpg?dl=0

Here’s what it looks like AFTER I update to 6.1.6: https://www.dropbox.com/s/btkb7s8f4ky6chi/2018-07-04_12-39-15-AFTER-X-Update-to-616.jpg?dl=0

I’m using custom CSS in the BEFORE:
.h-landmark, .entry-title.h-landmark { font-size: 34px; line-height: 40px; letter-spacing: 0px; text-transform:none; color:#000; }
h1, .h1 { font-size: 34px; line-height: 38px; }
h2, .h2 { font-size: 30px; line-height: 38px; }
h3, .h3 { font-size: 28px; line-height: 34px; }
h4, .h4 { font-size: 26px; line-height: 34px; }
h5, .h5 { font-size: 22px; line-height: 30px; }
h6, .h6 { font-size: 20px; line-height: 28px; }

When I update to 6.1.6, do I need to do something different with this code for it to continue to work? Or is it something else? Please let me know if you want to log in and look around.

I had several plugins that were outdated, but I’ve updated them now, and the site stays the way it’s supposed to. In only produces the problem when I update our X Theme (not Pro, not yet anyway).

Please let me know how to proceed? Thanks! :slight_smile:

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Please be advised that we have released X 6.1.6 and Cornerstone 3.1.6. It is now available in automatic updates. You can now update to this latest version. This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches since you have installed Comet Cache when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors. I can see that you are using Site5 as your host provider. They may have other caching feature in their server that may also result to an issue. Be sure that you have cleared all the site caches as well. For more details, please check this out: https://kb.site5.com/tag/cache/

Hope this helps.

Hi there! I’m not sure I understand your answer. I’d already updated to 6.1.6 - that’s what caused the problems I defined in my ticket. Did you look at the links and info I sent you? I don’t feel like you answered my question at all.

I did clear my cache when I was trying to fix the problem on my own. But nothing fixed it. Why would the update to 6.1.6 only selectively affect my heading fonts? It blows them up and the only way to fix them is to go through the entire site, heading by heading, to manually fix them. Which takes hours we don’t have.

I don’t think it’s site5’s problem. I tested 6.1.6 on another site on Peopleshost.com - the same thing is happening. So it’s not just one of my sites, it’s potentially all 20 of them that I manage. So this is a HUGE problem for me. And I don’t have the bandwidth to manually fix every heading in every website when I need to update to 6.1.6.

Can you please go back and really look at what I ask for help with? Your support is usually awesome, but you really didn’t answer my question at all. Please don’t let your support go down the drain like other developers. X is great, but without great support to go with it creates a problem for me.

I’ve got 10 Pro and X licenses in my account here. And I have another dozen scattered in separate client accounts. I’m a loyal customer! Can you please look at this again? Thank you! :blush:

Hello There,

I have already looked into the issue in your site. I could not replicate the issue. All headlines is displaying perfectly. They all seems to display with the font size being assigned to them.

This is how I see your site which is the same as the before update screenshot in dropbox:

You may be have a caching issue or just a browser caching issue. Please clear all your caches including your browser cache. For best results, please use private browsing mode in testing your site.

What was the final solution? I’m having the same problem. In my case everything seems to look good in edit mode, but then it all changes in Preview mode…

Hi @pearlmultimedia

We would appreciate if you can open a new support thread for every question you have as every site has its own server configuration and its own story, so even if the symptoms are similar, the reasons might be different.

If RueNel’s suggestions mentioned on this thread doesn’t work for you, then please open a new support thread.

Thanks.

Ok will do.

Hey Pearl Multimedia! When I updated my site to Pro from X, for some reason, when I went and looked at my plugins, there were TWO instances of Cornerstone, one of which was active. Once I deactivated it, everything came back looking as originally intended.

So definitely check your plugins to make sure Cornerstone is deactivated after you upgrade from X to X-Pro. Hope this helps! :slight_smile:

That’s correct, no need for Cornerstone plugin once Pro theme is active, as all the plugin’s features are already implemented in Pro theme.

Thanks @Jen6566 for helping out!

My pleasure - happy to help! It takes a village, right? :slight_smile:

I agree :slight_smile: have a great day!
