Headers & Footers Visible On Page But Missing From Builder After Upgrade

Hello,

I upgraded my site from 1.1.1 to the current version. Everything seems normal, except that my global header and footer no longer show up in the Pro header/footer builders.

I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong, something has broken, or I’m expected to re-create them after the version-level change.

Thanks!

Hi Dan,

Thanks for reaching out.

That’s an old version, but it should be backward compatible. Perhaps you can restore it back to when it’s still working and export your header and footer as a template? Then you can update it again and import the same templates.

Maybe something in the process, like data migration is halted or stopped during the process by something, like database connection issue or similar.

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion! On reverting, I found the same thing in the header builder. So I switched to page view, then went into theme options: header from there and saw this

“You are currently using Original Headers. Assign a global header in the builder to use Pro Headers”

So that would seem to be the problem. Is there no way to bring original headers into Pro? A quick bit of searching didn’t uncover anything, so I’m guessing not.

Hi Daniel,

What do you mean bringing original headers to Pro? You mean the header used by the theme automatically? It’s not possible since it’s not a custom header, and it’s based on theme templates. Maybe that’s the reason there are no headers on the list since what you been using is the original header that comes from theme templates.

Thanks!

Yep, that’s exactly right. I had built it in theme options, being brand new to Pro, and then forgot where I left off.

The solution was simply to open the theme options in one tab, the header builder in the other, and rebuild it copying over code elements as needed.

Thanks!

Glad to hear you were able to find a workaround.

Cheers!
